3/30 Five Words

There are lots of prompts out there. Here is a prompt from The Magnolia Review: use the following words: red, lily, snow, taxi, blanket in a poem of ten lines.

Five Words
You find yourself in a house
brimming with Hyacinths and Foxgloves
You sink into a sofa, down whiskey
as snow turns your hair white. A lily grows
out of the television set as you watch life roll by,
petals turn dusty brown.
On the other side of town
I tumble into a taxi while the night flashes red
I mutter my address as I motor over speed bumps.
I text you: "Don't wrap love in a blanket. Never cover it up."
