Inducing Sleep

Each night satin sheets bandage
wrinkled memories and surfs on
blue dreams while inside the head
a baby is born soft and full of heat.

Each needle marks the target, the
crucifix, the meridan temple, gorged
soul and zoo of grief the crying sun
walks on coals, the grey is lifeless,
hole-black, tunneling into lighthouse
where green forest reefs lift white-birth
blanket and covers womb with sleep.
