Prayer by Pbadams

I must stress that this is not my poem, but someone wrote it for me. So thanks for that. Forget about me and my poetry, this is the real thing.

Could there be prayer
more profoundly healing
for the dry and hopeless
soul as a colorless spray of rain
when it spills on this strip of parched
earth from one still distant gray
patch on an otherwise clear
dawn blue sky impossibly high
above the meditative redwood
greens and golden longing
blades of grass gratefully
drinking in every drop
of the approaching season
nodding beneath the mists
and the deepening rainbow
their brittle whispering prayer.
